I have a Giant in my basement. I will not lie. Last year I neglected my Giant. Mostly I did not spend time with it, choosing instead to while away the Summer and Fall learning to ride a motorcycle. In short, my Giant almost never got outside to play.
Before you call the behemoth’s equivalent of child services or the ASPCA on me, please be aware that my Giant is a bicycle; a Trance dual suspension mountain bike to be precise.
Plus I am already taking steps to amend the situation. It’s been out the last two Sundays for approximately 6-7 miles each day.
I allot myself an hour or so of respite from the mountain of chores that two dogs, a cat, 1/4 acre of land and a 200 year old house enjoin. I feel so blessed to have acres of land and trails to ride, almost literally at my doorstep. I think it’s important to take a break too. It reduces stress, raises the heart rate and my attitude. Some people go to spin class, some go to the gym, I go for a long spin. Whatever you’re passion, make time for it. No matter how busy. You’ll notice the difference, and hopefully you will have giant fun too.
